Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

In the opening chapter of Republic's Federal Agents vs. Underworld, Inc., Professor Clayton (James Craven) returns from Abistahn with hieroglyphs obtained from one of the legendary Golden Hands of King Kurigal I. But Clayton mysteriously disappears shortly thereafter, apparently a victim of kidnapping. Assigned to the case, Federal Agent Dave Worth (Kirk Alyn) learns of the professor's discovery from his secretary Laura Keith (Rosemary La Planche) and a colleague, Professor Paul Williams (Bruce Edwards). The latter receives a mysterious letter containing an exotic drug that takes control of his mind and makes him susceptible to the will of Nila (Carol Forman), an evil Abistahnian out to gain control of the world. Happily, Dave succeeds in obtaining an antidote before Williams can act on Nila's demand, a rendezvous at 209 Commercial Street. Dave keeps the appointment instead, running right into Nila's associate, underworld kingpin Spade Gordon (Roy Barcroft). During their struggle, an electric fire breaks out and the blaze brings down the roof of the building.
