Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The father in Father and Son is played by Edmund Gwenn; the son is played by Esmond Knight. Dad is an ex-convict who, once sprung, seemingly can't shake his larcenous instincts. The son gallantly shoulders the blame for the father's latest misdeed. All is well when it turns out that Dad was innocent all along. Father and Son was based on Barber John's Boy, a novel by Ben Ames Williams (of Leave Her to Heaven fame).
