The most interesting aspect of this otherwise humdrum early talkie Western is its cast. Both Roy Stewart and William Desmond, playing respectively the boss villain and the sheriff, had been major genre stars during the silent era and their appearance here lends a bit of theatrical bravura to the proceedings. In contrast, Paul Fix was merely at the beginning of his long career in films. A favorite of B-Western fans then and now, Fix went on to play scores of villains, sheriffs, and assorted malcontents, his career lasting well into the television era and included a lengthy stint on The Rifleman.
