Guiseppe Verdi's lavish Shakespearian epic opens London's newly-restored Royal Opera House in this performance originally broadcast live on the BBC in December of 1999. Directed by Graham Vick and featuring Bryn Terfel in the role of Sir John Falstaff and Barbara Frittoli as Alice Ford, this release features The Orchestra and Chorus of the Royal Opera House conducted by Bernard Haitink .
