Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Lillian Hill, a poor stenographer (Marguerite Snow), sacrifices her romance with an equally poor playwright, Henry Parker (Edward MacKay), to marry her boss Wilbur Mason (Arthur Donaldson). She does this only so that she will have the means to pay for surgery to restore her mother's sight. But the surgery is unsuccessful, and her coldness towards Mason arouses his jealousy. Parker, meanwhile, has come back into her life, but only because he has fallen in love with her stepdaughter, Anne (Alma Hanlon). One day, Mason finds Lillian and Parker together and creates a scene. Lillian goes to live with her mother (Rose Coughlan). Only after his wife's death does Mason realize she was innocent of any wrongdoing, so he gives his blessing to the union between Anne and Parker.
