synopsis
Originally released in Britain in 1945 as 29 Acacia Avenue, Facts of Love didn't make it to the States until 1949. By that time, much of the film's risque humor had been carefully expurgated, though enough was retained for American consumption to raise several eyebrows and numerous laughs. Gordon Harker and Betty Balfour play a middle-aged married couple who can't quite come to grips with the relaxed sexual mores of their offspring. Jimmy Hanley has the best scenes as the couple's son, who juggles two romances at once and lives to regret it. Facts of Love was based on a popular play by Denis and Mabel Constanduros.
