A one-time millionaire and former stockbroker whose life spiraled out of control due to heroin addiction travels to Mexico to receive a controversial drug treatment that may finally allow him to break free from the habit that now threatens to destroy his life. Upon hearing rumors that a West African root called Ibogaine is the most powerful treatment for addiction ever discovered, Dave realizes that this may be his last shot at getting clean. He used to have a good life, and now in order to support his addiction he has turned to petty theft. This is Dave's last chance at hope, and in order to help other addicts like him, he has agreed to allow his entire treatment to be captured on camera.
