synopsis
This cautionary melodrama looks at the fate of two young women from very different families. One of the women, the daughter of a doctor, is given plenty of love and affection. She grows up happy and well-adjusted. The other girl, the daughter of a stern reformer, grows up miserable and ends up killing herself and her illegitimate unborn baby.
