Synopsis by Robert Firsching
This minor Hong Kong comedy-drama from director Hou Shu-pui follows the goings-on at a popular nightclub in episodic fashion over a single eventful evening. Proprietress Susan (Francoise Yip) not only breaks up with her longtime beau, but must deal with the trials and tribulations of her girls, a party of young men who can't afford to pay for their bachelor party, and another customer who dies unexpectedly in the nightclub hallway. Two of the girls owe money to a triad gangster and another is an underage drug addict. One of the indebted girls (Teresa Mak) kidnaps the son of the gangster sent to collect her money for a 200,000-dollar ransom, and things get progressively out of control from there. Michael Chow co-stars as the harried triad thug with Mok Ho-yun, Lo Mang, and Yu Rongguang.
