synopsis
Elderly widower Hector Altiero befriends sullen Spanish schoolgirl Ana Torrent. The relationship is purely platonic; both Altiero and Torrent share an abiding love of nature and the outdoors. The local villagers, however, assume that the friendship is deeper and more physical than it appears. The film never solves this plot dilemma, nor does it ever state that the villagers' suspicions are not justified. Scripted by director Jaim DeArminan, The Nest was released in Spain as El Nido.
