Synopsis by Robert Firsching

Not to be confused with Stephen Shin's 1987 heist romance or Ko Sing-pui's 1991 indie spoof of the same title, this breezy Hong Kong crime-comedy from director Simon Leung concerns a gang of crooks involved in credit-card fraud. Forging the cards under the auspices of a seemingly legitimate department store, Chiang Chia-cheh (Law Kar-ying) and his men use their customers' card numbers to create duplicate cards. Then they have accomplices travel to various real stores and buy expensive goods, which are transferred to fully laundered money when they return the items for refund. The criminals are eventually brought down by the spunky Sisi Li (Athena Chu), who quickly figures out that the store has been charging all sorts of items to her already overburdened account. Together with some other debt-ridden friends and a helpful collector, Sisi creates a plan which she takes to the manager of the bank at which she is employed. Working as a team, they thwart the forgery ring and manage to recoup their own financial well-being in the process. Francis Ng co-stars with Teresa Mak and Yuen King-tan.
