Friday (Jack Webb) and Smith (Ben Alexander) investigate when a young wife and mother (Frances Rafferty) claims that she and her husband had signed a year-long lease for an apartment--only to have landlord Edward Daniels (John Qualen) chase them off the property at gunpoint before they can even move in. At a loss to explain Daniels' bizarre behavior, the two detectives begin poking around the apartment in question, and in so doing they uncover evidence of an arson scheme. Future TV producer Aaron Spelling appears as a suspiciously squirrely handyman. This episode is based on the Dragnet radio broadcast of April 23, 1953.
