Friday (Jack Webb) and Smith (Ben Alexander) spring into action when a divorced mother's baby is stolen. It turns out that the "kidnapper" is the new second wife of the baby's father, who is convinced that she is more qualified to raise the child than her predecessor. She may be right--but a crime has still been committed, and the two detectives must see to it that justice is served. This is one of a handful of black and white Dragnet episodes written expressly for television, with no prior radio version.
