This French film takes place on the European continent during the Crusades. Following the departure of the majority of the feudal warriors for the Crusades, the countryside was left wide open for attacks by bands of marauders and thieves. Here, four impoverished women follow along in the wake of those robbers, picking up scraps which they have left behind.
