synopsis
The Berlin Philharmonic teams up with conductor Sir Simon Rattle and vocalist Dianne Reeves for this unique concert that bridges classical and American popular music. The classical passages are represented by Maurice Ravel and Gabriel Fauré compositions, the pop by George Gershwin tunes such as " 'S Wonderful" and "Embraceable You" that Reeves interprets. Selections include: "Foggy Day," "Nice Work if You Can Get It," Pavone and La valse - Daphnis et Chloé (Suite No. 2). Individual accompanists include pianist Peter Martin, double bassist Reuben Rogers, and drummer Greg Hutchinson.
