synopsis
Cousin to the great Sajiyat Ray, Nitin Bose directs this wild and woolly melodrama. The film opens with Shyamlal (Biswanath Bhaduri) abducting Deepak (P. Sanyal), the son of his elder brother Hiralal (Durgadas Bannerjee), in order to get a larger portion of Hiralal's inherence. Raised by a blind musician and stage actress Surdas, the grown Deepak falls for the beautiful Rupkumari (Umasashi). Confused as to his true lineage, he elopes with his sweetheart, as private detectives hired by Hiralal try to find him. Later, Deepak suffers from amnesia following an ugly accident, regaining it only when he sees Surdas on-stage.
