In yet another of his poverty-stricken little silent Westerns, lower-echelon Western star Jack Perrin played Jack Powell, a young prospector helping a girl escape from an evil usurper. As always in a Perrin Western, the star's handsome mount, Starlight, figured prominently in the story. Desert Madness was produced and directed with more tenacity than skill by Harry S. Webb.
