Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
The Chilean military coup which bloodily toppled the regime of Marxist Salvador Allende is reviewed in this East German drama. In the story, the hero is a member of the Unidad Popular, and is fleeing for the border in fear of his life. He and his travelling companion meet up with a third man and begin quarrelling about who should be leading the expedition and how to comply with party regulations in that regard. They continue on with their expedition and are nearly at the border when they witness a peasant's unprovoked murder by a policeman.
