Synopsis by Mark Deming
Charles Dickens' classic story of a young man trying to overcome poverty and a blighted family life returns to the screen in this animated adaptation designed for family viewing. In David Copperfield, a young man is thrown into the world of adult responsibilities after the death of his mother. Forced into back-breaking labor by his cruel aunts, young Copperfield runs away to attain an education and build a life for himself as a writer while dealing with the pangs of first love when he falls for the unattainable Dora.
