Putting Down Roots is part two of the acclaimed PBS series, The Private Life of Plants. Hosted by famed naturalist David Attenborough, the program examines the intricate workings of a plant's root system. Using well-shot stop-motion photography, Attenborough explains how roots nourish plants and how different plants use them to reproduce with suckers and slowly shift into better positions. The program presents the world of plants as a dynamic, ever-changing world, and is shot in a wide variety of locations, from backyards to some of the most exotic locations on the planet.
