synopsis
Orson Welles stars in the Italian Biblical epic David and Goliath, but he doesn't play Goliath (he wasn't quite that big in 1961). Rather, Welles is King Saul, meaning that he's out of the picture before reel three. Someone named Ivo Payer plays David, who must do battle against the towering Goliath, portrayed (under mounds of laughably unconvincing makeup) by pro wrestler Kronos. Most of the film appears to be an excuse to show off a variety of undraped dancing girls. With the exception of Welles, the acting is uniformly bad (or maybe it's just the Godzilla-style dubbing) Originally titled David E Golia, this award-winner was picked up for American distribution by Allied Artists.
