Even though the action takes place in New York City, this film still gives William Desmond the West as a reference point -- he plays Jimmie Moulton, a society man who decided to prove himself by hard work out West instead of sitting idle in the East. Once he returns home, he discovers that his sweetheart, Cora Burton (Marguerite de la Motte), has become interested in Victor DeLara, a worthless bounder (Arthur Carewe). It all comes to a head at a costume party; Cora, dressed as Venus, chooses DeLara, who is clad as Adonis. Moulton, who is Vulcan, is left out in the cold, but when DeLara tries to attack Cora in her boudoir, he comes to her rescue. The two men fight it out and Moulton is mortally wounded. As he is dying, Cora realizes the terrible mistake she has made. The film isn't over yet -- she wakes up to discover it was all a dream. She finds Moulton and DeLara outside her window, fighting. This time, she knows which one of them is Mr. Right.
