Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Little Red Flowers director Zhang Yuan returns to the helm for this tale of a twenty-something girl from Wuhan who sets out in search of her biological mother while fending off the advances of her smitten neighbor, who watches from afar before launching an attempt to win her over once and for all. Dada (Li Xinyun) is a young beauty from central China who works in a local pool hall. Her neighbor Zhao Ye (Li Xiaofeng) watches Dada get dressed and prepare for work, later convincing the object of his affections to engage in a little hanky panky down by the river. Later confiding in her best friend Coco (Liu Yi) that she may be infertile, Dada returns home, where her divorced mother's middle-aged boyfriend makes no attempts to hide his lecherous intentions towards the girl. Rejected, the would-be lothario lashes back by informing Dada that the woman she lives with isn't her biological mother. That revelation sends Dada and Zhao to a small town nearby, and into the company of a woman who might just be the confused girl's actual mother. Later, after returning home and getting drunk at Coco's wedding, Dada hits the road with Zhou in search of some real answers.
