Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
Ichak Fintzi plays the painter Czontvary (1854-1919) in this biographical drama. The gifted artist was recognized over 30 years after his death by a communist country that considered him to be "rehabilitated" by the 1950s. The one-time pharmacist left his work behind at age 40 to devote his life to massive frescoes depicting Hungarian life and the ruins of Italy.
