Judging from the plot, this picture was a blatant attempt to cash in on the popularity of "America's Sweetheart," Mary Pickford, by starring her sister Lottie Pickford in the type of role Mary did. Curly (Lottie) is a slum girl who falls in love with wealthy Arthur Brewster (William Russell), who has founded a mission. But the mercenary Isabel Morrisey (Charlotte Burton) is determined to get him, and his money. She does win a marriage proposal from him but she still wants to make sure Curly stays as far away as possible. So she steals some rings and makes it look like Curly is the culprit. Meanwhile, Isabel's brother, Roland (George Periolat), is the executor of the Peters estate. Since he can't find the heir, he decides to take some of the securities for himself. In the end, Isabel and Roland are caught with the securities a and the innocent Curly, who turns out to be the Peters heir, winds up with Brewster.
