Although Frank Melbury (Tom Moore) comes from a good family, alcohol has set him on a downhill slide and he finds himself living on a park bench without any way of making a living. A compatriot of his suggests that he rob a house to rustle up enough money together to get by, and the house he chooses happens to belong to Regina Barry (Seena Owen). Regina is unhappy with her suitors and is aching to find somebody different. Frank raids her refrigerator, but can't bring himself to take her jewels. She discovers him in the house, but instinctively, she lets him go. This inspires him, and soon a charity worker finds him employment in an architect's office. He and Regina meet again, but she doesn't remember him. He is compelled to be honest, though, and tells her of his record. This information sends her away, broken-hearted. Frank enlists in the Canadian forces to forget and winds up in the Halifax explosion. Regina hears about it, rushes to his side and they are reunited.
