Synopsis by Nathan Southern

Christopher Parkening - one of the world's leading classical guitarists and a protégé of the eminent Andres Segovia - headlines this release, actually a compilation comprised of various clips of Parkening filmed over the years. Contents include a 10-minute segment depicting Parkening's reception of the 2003 Distinguished Audience Award at the University of Michigan, a half-hour 1971 performance with the CBS Chamber Orchestra for the New York-based WCBS-TV's program Camera Three (in which the musicians play works by Mundarra, Bach, Rodrigo and others), a 30-minute recital held at Michigan State University in 1973 and originally broadcast on PBS, and a 14-minute documentary entitled Celebration of Segovia originally intended to be shown at live concert events, with Parkening playing the "Celebration of Segovia" program. As an added bonus, the release includes footage of four performances by Andres Segovia himself played and filmed in front of the Eiffel Tower in 1950.
