Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Prolific director Archie Mayo cut his cinematic teeth on such trifles as Christine of the Big Tops. Pauline Garon heads the cast as Christine, star performer of a travelling circus (which is never seen in the film). Falling in love with the circus doctor, Christine pretends to sprain her ankle so the handsome medico will devote all his attentions to her. When the ruse is revealed, everyone in the troupe labels Christine as a chronic liar. Thus, when she really sprains her leg, no one believes her, which leads to quite a few uncomfortable situations. The sole raison d'etre of Christine of the Big Tops seems to have been to show off Pauline Garon's shapely legs at every conceivable opportunity.
