Synopsis by Michael Hastings
Filmed over the course of five years, Michel Auder's video diary of Andy Warhol and his many acolytes captures a glimpse of the artist at his least-guarded - in many scenes, Warhol himself didn't know he was being recorded. Much of the footage focuses on the relationship between the artist and actress Viva, who found herself on bad terms with the Factory after leaving in the late-'60s. Brigid Polk, John Lennon, and Yoko Ono also appear in the film at various openings, parties, and functions. Chelsea Girls With Andy Warhol concludes with an interview between Warhol and artist Larry Rivers.
