synopsis
This drama is taken from two novels by Selma Lageroef. Charlotte is a country woman who is fiercely independent. While living with her uncle the Vicar, she falls for his assistant, religious zealot Karl-Artur. Charlotte meets with the disapproval of Karl-Artur's possessive mother, who drives a wedge between the two.
