synopsis
As the title indicates, this release pays homage to the longstanding collaborative relationship between Opera Australia and ABC Television. The program in question features two elements that are intercut throughout: vintage performance extracts (culled from four decades of productions at the Sydney Opera House, and starring such notables as Dame Joan Sutherland, Yvonne Kenny and Jeffrey Black) and extracts from a contemporary event, shot in 1996, in which 220 such individuals associated with Opera Australia take the stage in commemoration and celebration of that institution's history.
