Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka

This standard, specialized docudrama features re-enacted episodes and speeches delivered to the Spanish parliament, as director Jose L. Lopez del Rio reconstructs the history of an anarchist rebellion in the small Andalusian town of Casas Viejas. The Republican government brutally put down the rebellion in an offensive action that culminated in the death of 12 villagers. As the polemics in the parliament heat up on both sides, viewers are filled in on the complexities of politics in 1933 Spain.
