Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Though producer William Fox had several "vamp" actresses like Theda Bara and Virginia Pearson under contract, he was less successful in developing a Mary Pickford type. The closest he came was 17-year-old June Caprice, who made her starring debut in 1916's Caprice of the Mountains. The actress was cast as Caprice Talbert, the rambunctious daughter of mountaineer Dave Talbert (Joel Day). As expected, Caprice falls in love with the first "city feller" she meets, namely Jack Edmunds (Harry Hilliard). After marrying Edmunds, Caprice accompanies him to the City, where life proves to be too fast and wild to suit her tastes. Even worse, her new husband proves to be a major disappointment in the fidelity department. With her baby cradled in her arms, the disillusioned Caprice heads back to the hills, where she remains until her contrite husband arrives to beg her forgiveness.
