Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This action picture was based on a popular series of Saturday Evening Post stories written by Peter B. Kyne, which were later turned into a novel, and then a play by Edward Rose. Although Thomas Meighan brings his masculine charm to the character of Matt Peasley, he is a bit too urbane for the role. When seaman Matt Peasley and his friend, Murphy (Hugh Cameron), go ashore in San Francisco, they save Florrie Ricks (Agnes Ayers) from a couple of robbers. Matt falls in love with Florrie, whose father is ship owner Cappy Ricks (Charles S. Abbe). Matt and Murphy sail for the South Seas on one of Ricks' ships. Savages kills the captain, and Matt brings the ship to Samoa. Ricks sends a cable informing him that a new captain is on his way, but Matt refuses to accept him. Instead, he gives the new captain a thrashing and brings the ship to San Francisco himself. Ricks is furious at being disobeyed, and he's even angrier when he discovers that his daughter is in love with Matt. He takes her away on a voyage, but the boat wrecks. Matt takes heroic measures to save Florrie and her father, who finally consents to their match.
