The last in Roger Corman's successful "nurses cycle," Candy Stripe Nurses is an entertaining trifle for fans of the exploitation maverick's work. While Corman didn't do much more than greenlight the picture, it has all the hallmarks that devotees seek, including car wrecks, humor, bare breasts, a cameo from Richard Miller, and plentiful period atmosphere (there's even some gratuitous streaking). The film is cheerfully amoral in its attitudes towards minor matters like statutory rape and whether "no means yes," but the action is seen through the eyes of its obviously undisturbed underage protagonists and it's all in the service of getting more skin onscreen. Candy Stripe Nurses doesn't aspire to anything more than titillation and succeeds with more energy than the typical drive-in feature.
