synopsis
This movie dramatizes the historic eight-year journey across North America by Spanish explorer Cabeza de Vaca starting in 1528. Along the way, he combines Native American shamanism with his own methodologies and becomes a mystical healer. The film vividly re-creates the early 16th century culture of some New World peoples.
