synopsis
Director George Roy Hill and screenwriter William Goldman immortalized the characters of Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid in their blockbuster 1969 opus, but what of the actual Butch and Sundance? This historical documentary embarks on the route that the outlaws followed, across states including Idaho, Colorado and South Dakota, and visits their old haunts, including Robber's Roost and Hole in the Wall; it also investigates the historical fate of the duo by traveling to South America and unveiling newly-discovered information about what actually happened to them on their Argentine ranch. Hal Holbrook (The Firm) narrates.
