Synopsis by Nathan Southern
As directed by Sanzhar Sultanov, this unusual drama constitutes a tripartite episode film, set in 1920s New York; each installment was adapted from a short story by legendary novelist Jack London. In the first segment, entitled "Just Meat," two thieves experience conflicts with one another following an elaborate jewel heist; in the second, "To Kill a Man," a wealthy matron plays mind games with an impoverished thief; and in the third, "Burning Daylight," several Wall Street sharks go head-to-head with a Klondike businessman - with unexpected consequences.
