synopsis
While playing cards with his cronies, a young gentlemen is informed that his wife has just given birth. He rushes home, only to be stopped at the door by the attending nurse, who informs the hero that mother and child are sleeping and cannot be disturbed. Obligingly, the new father also nods off to dreamland, at which point a burglar sneaks into the house. About to clean out the joint, the burglar's heart is softened by the sight of the newborn infant. This Vitagraph tearjerker ends as the burglar quietly returns all his ill-gotten gains -- and leaves behind a ten-dollar bill as a birthday present.
