Synopsis
Chronicling the "nonviolent war" (as narrator Martin Sheen puts it) that brought down Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic in 2000. The warriors: a student-led resistance group called Otpor ("Resistance"). Their methods (as members recall here, augmented by news footage): persistance, "shock therapy" and, one notes, "a dose of humor." "The enthusiasm of these kids was extraordinary," says Daniel Serwer of the U.S. Institute of Peace. "These were kids who wanted to be free."
