Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
This drama chronicles adventures of a whole posse of middle-aged intellectuals who have gathered together to trek from the northernmost part of the Netherlands to the hills of the southernmost part of the country -- hills that were once enormous mountains. Along the way, the insecurities and flaws of these emotionally and physically out-of-shape trekkers are healed by the balm of shared discomfort, enforced closeness and constant exercise. One couple, whose lives to this point were characterized by ceaseless and pointless quarrelling, rediscover the erotic nature of their tiffs. The group's ostensible leader faces the reality of his life and drops his pose as a successful, confident man. Others discover their own truths, as the journey goes on.
