Synopsis by Nathan Southern
The three classical pieces that appear in this release were performed by the Boston Symphony Orchestra and that ensemble's then-musical director, Erich Leinsdorf, in the early '70s. First on the bill is a rendition of Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 9 in C major D944 'Great' from March 26, 1963; next up is a performance of Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 4 in D minor op. 120 from November 13, 1963. The final selection is a rendition of Richard Wagner's Parsifal - Good Friday Music from January 7, 1964.
