Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Boss of Boomtown was Rod Cameron's first western at Universal Pictures. The film's action highlights are loosely basted to a nickel's worth of plotline. Much of the footage is given over to the friendly-enemy banter between Cameron and his co-star Tom Tyler. Neither leading man was known for his quick wit or gift for repartee, so it's best to ignore the dialogue exchanges and concentrate on the first-rate ridin' and shootin' sequences. Cameron's tenure in Universal's B mill lasted only a year; the actor's greatest fame would rest upon his prolific TV series work of the 1950s.
