Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Lucy Ward (Lillian West) forsakes James English, her childhood sweetheart (R. Henry Grey), to marry George Ferris (Robyn Adair), the superintendent of the Ajax mines. Ferris, however, is a compulsive gambler and he plots to rob the mine's paymaster to cover his debts. But when he breaks into his own house, Lucy, who thinks he is a burglar, shoots him dead. English, who has enlisted and whose troop is stationed near the Ferris's, gives pursuit to the robbers. But he lets them go when he discovers what Lucy has done to save her from being disgraced. He is court-martialed, but Lucy appears and testifies that he was only trying to protect her. He is released and is reunited with Lucy (who never should have left him in the first place).
