Synopsis by Cammila Collar
This four-episode OVA revolves around a vision of the future in which the polar ice caps have melted, raising ocean levels and forcing humanity into a somewhat amphibious lifestyle. In Blue Submarine, a sea-dwelling people called the Zorndyke is discovered as a result of these changes. They are a hostile species, and soon humanity is at war, placing most of its hope for success in its new vessel, the Blue Submarine. Mayumi Kino, a young and enthusiastic new pilot, has her first task in trying to re-enlist Tetsu Hayami , another pilot whose help will be necessary in defeating the Zorndyke. He initially meets her request with refusal but in such uncertain times, he might just find that he has no choice in the matter.
