Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Julius Steger plays a self-made businessman in this drama. Along with running the Wilton Piano Factory and owning a bank, he has a son, Bob (George Le Guere) and a daughter (Maud Hill). The father worships Bob, even though the young man lacks any sort of sense. He is expelled from college and shows up at home with a freeloading friend. The father is blind to all this and puts the two of them to work heading up the bank's investment department. Predictably, they make a mess of things and ruin Bob's father. Bob's pal commits suicide and Bob runs off, leaving a note for his father and fiancée, Grace Maynard (Grace Valentine), saying that he will return when he has become worthy of them. It takes him five years, but he becomes a success out West and returns to pull his father out of his poverty, and to reunite with Grace, who has been waiting faithfully all this time.
