Synopsis by Dan Pavlides

Elise (Lucie Avenay) and Emile (Marcel Merminod) are the elderly couple who descend into madness and isolation in this black comedy. Fearing a world war, they begin to stockpile food and seal themselves in their house. The ashes of their late son are never far from their sight. Initially they are satisfied, but soon, they start to argue as the garbage begins to pile up, and a young boy witnesses the couple's erratic behavior. Emile mistakenly believes the boy is his mortal enemy who cost him his job when he was ill. When Elise dies, he tears down the barriers of boarded-up wood and trash and comes out of his house with his hands up. Emile is completely unaware the world is not at war.
