Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Sonia Smirnov (Madame Olga Petrova) is the most popular actress in Paris. But years before, she was married to Gaston Duval (Roy Pilcher) and a vindictive woman convinced her that the wedding was faked. So she ran away to a convent, where her daughter Marie was born, then headed to Paris and the theater. The little girl grew up in the country believing that Sonia was merely a dear friend. Now, as a young woman, Marie (also played by Petrova) meets Alan Hall (Mahlon Hamilton) and they have a romance. But Hall goes to Paris and falls for Sonia, who tells him to dump his country sweetheart, not knowing it is Maria. The broken-hearted Maria tries to drown herself, and when Sonia finds this out, she sends Hall back to her and disappears to become a Red Cross nurse. One day Duval, her old husband, is admitted to the hospital with a war wound -- he is now a general and a count. He is in need of a blood transfusion and Sonia, in spite of her bitter feelings for him, volunteers. But while he is convalescing, he clears things up with her and they are reunited.
