synopsis
A well-intentioned but hopelessly dated TV drama, Black Answer boasts an impressive African-American cast, including Ivan Dixon, Raymond St. Jacques, Abbey Lincoln and Herb Jeffries. Tony Franciosa stars as Crime magazine reporter Jeff Dillon, investigating the fire-bombing death of a black newspaper editor who advocated nonviolence. The chief suspect is Joe X Lee (Ivan Dixon), a leading black militant. The motive may have been that Lee was about to be exposed as a fraud, who'd sold out his brothers to the cops. Black Answer originally aired as the December 13, 1968 episode of the TV series Name of the Game.
