Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

This video tells the story of the challenge that faced the United States at the time of its entry into World War II: to build enough bombers to destroy the Axis powers. The B-24 was the workhorse of the war. The film contains interviews with the brave men who flew them. There is never before seen film footage from the Nazis' own film library of the destruction wreaked on their forces by this plane. Back in the United States, 42,000 dedicated men and women at Ford Motor Company's Willow Run factory worked around the clock to build the B-24 bomber. Every 53 minutes a bomber with over one million parts was assembled. Archival film footage shows this amazing cooperative effort.
